Rich veins of magic and destiny flow through Marlowe deChristopher’s Greencoat and the Swanboy. A young swanherd named Baptiste is chagrined when a mysterious, green-garbed trickster makes off with the swans he is tending. He gives chase and comes across a castle full of courtiers awaiting the arrival of a Fairy Knight who will be known by his gold wristlet, which must match that worn the princess. Baptiste, it emerges, has been wearing the prophesied band around his wrist ever since he was found and taken in as a baby. But just who is the mysterious Greencoat, and what are his intentions? DeChristopher’s captivating text and stately oil paintings combine for a pleasing and memorable experience. #green #coat #swan #boy #swans #gold #golden #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
