The book of the day is Leaf by @sandradieckmann. All the animals are greatly disturbed when an enormous polar bear arrives in the forest and takes up residence in a cave. The creature soon gains the nickname Leaf, because of his odd habit of wrapping himself in leaves and jumping off a high ledge into a lake as if hoping to fly. Finally, the birds take the critical step of talking to the bear and discover that all of his wild, off-putting behavior is an attempt to escape the area, where he landed unintentionally on a piece of drifting ice. Once they understand his motives, the animals resolve to help Leaf return to his family. Dieckmann’s touching story demonstrates the power of perception, the limits of judgment, and the importance of communication. #leaf #polar #bear #polarbear #animal #animals #forest #woods #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
