Interspecies tension leads to a lightly comical battle with a pleasing resolution in C. L. G. Martin and Robert Rayevsky’s The Dragon Nanny. The story begins on a dark night in a forest filled with eerie sounds. Nanny Nell Hannah, recently fired from her post in the royal nursery for being too old, crosses paths with an enormous dragon called Dragonia. The beast agrees to take the governess into her employ to care for her two babies. But soon enough one of the young dragons is captured and imprisoned in the royal dungeons, and it is up to Nanny Nell Hannah to broker a lasting peace between dragons and humans. Martin’s witty writing style is well complemented by Rayevsky’s textured, angular illustrations. #dragon #nanny #fire #castle #king #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
