Here is Imagine a Place, a breathtaking combination of the writing of Sarah L. Thomson and the art of Rob Gonsalves. This collection of words and pictures outlines an abstract place that is everywhere and nowhere. Landscapes bridge disparate dimensions, houses contain impossible physical constructs, and people traverse gossamer boundaries. Thomson’s hypnotic phrases (“spring becomes/an avalanche of blossoms”, “space is measured/in sunset”, “fire is cool/against your skin,/a glimmering echo/of a star”) evoke lush and gripping fantasy images. In his mind-bending acrylic paintings, Gonsalves depicts unique, indelible constructs of magic realism. #imagine #place #imagination #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
