Reading Jane Yolen and @ruthsandersonart’s Where Have the Unicorns Gone? reminds me of a deep ache somewhere inside me, a remnant of my childhood that cries out for the magic of a world that is surely long gone—if indeed it ever existed at all. In this quietly epic narrative, the mythical beasts have been fleeing for their lives across eternity, away from towering castles, sprawling cities, and flaming rockets, finally taking refuge in the calm of the ocean’s embrace. Yolen’s flowing verse in anapestic tetrameter pulls the reader ever onward as swiftly as the galloping silvery herd, while Sanderson’s stirring oil paintings on Masonite panels provide glowing colors and palpable textures along the way. #unicorns #unicorn #world #time #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
