For a tender look at the sensory experiences of youth, here is @nikkimcclure’s delicate and delightful In. A young child muses on the emotional attachments that keep us connected to our surroundings: First, a longing for the warmth, coziness, and familiarity of indoors. Next, a curiosity for the wildness, energy, and excitement of outdoors. Finally, a return to the indoors and a safe, relaxing bedtime. McClure’s distinctive cut-paper illustrations, starkly colored in black, white, and a range of yellows, mesh perfectly with her introspective first-person text. #in #inside #indoor #indoors #out #outside #outdoor #outdoors #child #childhood #play #book #books #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
