Please enjoy this elegant version of the fairy tale The Fool and the Fish, retold by Lenny Hort and illustrated by Gennady Spirin. Ivan, known to his neighbors as a lazy young man, encounters a fish that promises to grant his every wish. After a series of misadventures, he finds himself possessed of fabulous wealth and wed to a lovely princess. Spirin’s luxurious illustrations ably convey the grandeur and magic of the tale. A note for folklore enthusiasts: This story has been adapted from “Emelyan the Fool”, a tale from Narodnye Russki Skazki, published between 1855 and 1863 by Aleksandr Nikolaevich Afanas’ev. #fish #wish #wishes #princess #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
