Hansel and Gretel Sequel Week meanders onward, and today I’m looking at this eloquent version illustrated by Monique Felix. The swirling lines and glowing colors of the art create a visual landscape of ethereal beauty to compliment the stately text. Fearsome indeed is the witch, a fell spirit of the forest with bones braided into her hair. Her demonic eyes, with vertical slits for pupils, can first be seen peering out of the darkness through the window of the house of sweets as the children obliviously munch on cake and spun sugar. #forest #woods #house #witch #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
