No matter where in the world they live, people from all cultures have always been able to look up at the night sky and see the stars. What do these dazzling lights mean to the humans that observe them? What similar objects might hold their fascination as they cast their gaze around the world in the brightness of day? Mary Lyn Ray and @marlafrazee chew over these big, compelling questions in the beautifully simple Stars. A host of children look up at the sky as the light fades from day to night. They consider the similarities and differences between the stars above them and numerous objects on the earth below, including eggs, rocks, moss, flowers, snowflakes, and more. Through these exquisite comparisons, Ray reveals a poetic understanding of universal truths and emotions. Frazee takes a charmingly literal approach in her soothing graphite, gouache, and gel pen illustrations, ornamenting the timeless wonder of children exploring nature with star-shaped pumpkin blossoms and dandelion puffs. #stars #star #child #children #play #nature #world #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
