Nancy Willard and @marygrandpre have brought a smile to my face with the delightful and playfully titled Sweep Dreams. A man brings home a broom that soon begins to move about on its own. They dance through the house each evening, sweeping together in the moonlight. After the broom is stolen by a mysterious stranger, the man is devastated, and he cannot rest until, with the help of a wise fortune-teller, he recover his precious companion. Now, however, the broom has gained the power to sweep rainbows and stars in the sky; the man waits patiently below, content to watch his friend work miracles high above him. Willard’s offbeat love story is well matched by the bright colors and extreme perspectives of GrandPré’s joyful illustrations. #dreams #dream #friend #friends #friendship #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
