Picture a monster under your bed that emerges only because it wants to be your friend. Beatrice Modaressi demonstrates the power of courage and friendship with her quirky story The Beastly Visits. Newton is a monster who dwells in an underground burrow. In the house above lives a boy named Miles. A secret tunnel leads from the burrow up to a trapdoor beneath Miles’s bed. After several false starts, the shy Newton works up his nerve and befriends the boy. The two begin playing together almost every day, and before long they have formed a tight bond. Eventually, Newton spots Miles being targeted by a bully. The two defend each other their friendship is sealed. Modaressi’s whimsical narrative and illustrations treat her subjects with tenderness and charm. #boy #monster #creature #bully #friend #friends #friendship #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
