Awaken, friends, and return to the world of love, laughter, and light. To conclude Snow White Week, I am thrilled to present this marvelous edition by Paul Heins and Trina Schart Hyman. Heins remains deeply faithful to the German text of the Brothers Grimm, creating the perfect base for the flowing lines and bright colors of Hyman’s lyrical work. Snow White’s appearance represents the picture of radiant youth, while the wicked stepmother oozes a subtle mixture of haughty grandeur and simmering envy. The golden edge of the magic mirror is carved with faces representing the roiling emotions concealed beneath the queen’s placid surface. A personal note: I coveted this gorgeous rare volume for a very long time and was floored to receive it as a generous gift from a lovely family whose children I cared for years ago. #snow #white #snowwhite #queen #mirror #poison #apple #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
