When you have bad dreams, do you ever wish they could simply be sucked away by an outside force, leaving you in a peaceful slumber? If so, you’ll enjoy The Dream Eater by Christian Garrison and Diane Goode. Yukio awakens from a terrible nightmare in which he is being chased by a three-headed demon riding a dragon with twenty eyes. He soon learns that everyone in his small community is experiencing troubled sleep. His father dreams he has planted bamboo instead of rice. His mother dreams of being frozen by the winter snow. His grandfather dreams he is a fish caught in a net. Danjuro the samurai dreams the village is under attack by an infernal army. Outside the village, Yukio spots a strange animal drowning in the river and pulls it to safety. The unusual creature identifies itself as a Baku—an eater of dreams. Struck by inspiration, Yukio leads the Baku back towards his home, and the beast devours the nightmares of everyone it encounters. Garrison’s simple text is well complemented by Goode’s elaborate artwork. #dream #eater #dreams #nightmare #village #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
