If you’d like a wholly original story full of wondrous creatures, enchanted artifacts, and deep emotions, Lidia Postma has just the thing: an elaborate magical quest into another world. Here, for your viewing pleasure, is The Stolen Mirror. Michael has a secret that he has never revealed to anyone—his garden is home to a group of little elves and fairies. When his mother and father tell him that he will soon have a new baby sibling, he feels ambivalent and says he would rather have a bicycle. His parents obliging gift him a bicycle, which he enjoys pedaling all around town. One day, while he is out for a ride, the little folk appear and lead him through an old archway into a strange land. There, a morose tribe of people laments the loss of a marvelous mirror that tells viewers who they truly are. Michael just recover the mirror from a fierce and powerful dragon with the help of three magical birds. Afterward, he returns home, eager to meet his younger brother or sister for the first time. Postma’s rollicking text and delicate fantasy illustrations combine for an epic adventure. #stolen #mirror #dragon #adventure #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
