@guojing.art has crafted a marvelous wordless story, perfectly blending the cosmic and the intimate: The Only Child. Feeling lonely, a young child decides to go on an excursion by bus—without any adults. Stranded in the snow, the child soon encounters a majestic stag, who offers warmth and protection. The two embark on a mystical journey, which takes them up a cloudy stair, into the sky, and inside the belly of a whale, which contains a field of tiny glowing lights. Afterward, it is time for a flight home in the moonlight and a gentle goodbye. Guojing’s hazy pencil illustrations depict the twists and turns, perhaps real, perhaps imaginary, with true depth of emotion. #child #deer #stag #cloud #clouds #sky #imagine #imagination #adventure #friend #friends #friendship #book #books #childrensbooks #picturebook #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
