Antonia Barber and @pjlynchgallery present Catkin, an original tale inspired by Celtic folklore. The book takes readers from the world of the familiar to a land beyond our own, and back again. A tiny cat is born and named Catkin because of his tail’s resemblance to the flower of the same name. In time, he is gifted to a farmer and his wife and charged with the safety of their young daughter Carrie. When the girl is kidnapped by the Little People and replaced with a changeling, the little cat must go under the green hill and rescue her. The dark Lord and Lady of the Little People set Catkin three riddles, which he ably solves through an understanding of wordplay. Barber’s flowing text and Lynch’s richly textured watercolor paintings make for an elegant marriage. #cat #adventure #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
