A deep transformation is upon us as we continue through our second Beauty and the Beast Week. Have a look at this fascinating collaboration between Anne Carter and Binette Schroeder. Carter’s expansive, opulent text closely follows the French of Madame Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. Schroeder’s spare illustrations give off a ghostly atmosphere, flecked with bits of surrealism. Her beast in particular is an inscrutable melange of bat, wolf, leopard, and human. #beauty #beast #palace #rose #mirror #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
