Step through a seemingly ordinary doorway into an entirely new reality with @bottomshelfbks and @dsantat’s Lift. Young Iris loves to push the button when her family rides in their building’s elevator, considering it an important job. One day, disaster strikes: her little brother presses the button instead. Even worse, their parents praise him for it. Later, Iris finds a discarded elevator button set in a wall plate and tapes it up in her bedroom. To her surprise, the button transforms her closet door into a portal leading to far-off lands. Finally, it would seem, she has a means to escape her pesky younger sibling. But she soon realizes that a good adventure is far more fun with a sidekick in tow. Lê’s warm-hearted story and Santat’s irresistible art blend perfectly together in comic-style panels interspersed with full-bleed illustrations revealing each marvelous new destination. #lift #elevator #button #buttons #sister #brother #adventure #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
