You’re in for a rollicking adventure with Steven Kellogg’s Jack and the Beanstalk. An irresistible vitality emanates from the characters and settings on every page. In adapting the text from Joseph Jacobs’ English Fairy Tales, Kellogg has wisely preserved the storyteller’s voice by retaining many of the source material’s charming turns of phrase in both narration and dialogue. The illustrations imbue the tale with new and unexpected possibilities; myriad hidden details obliquely suggest tantalizing elements of backstory and playful fillips of metafictionality. #stevenkellogg #jack #beanstalk #jackandthebeanstalk #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
