Next up in my Little Red Riding Hood series is a version by Josephine Evetts-Secker and @nicolettaceccoli. Though she adds numerous colorful details, Evetts-Secker hews closely to the plot of the Brothers Grimm tale, even including the grisly method by which Little Red Riding Hood takes revenge on the wolf—sewing large rocks up inside his stomach. Ceccoli plays with line and proportion, warping and elongating features of environment and anatomy for dramatic purposes. Several illustrations employ an unorthodox perspective, canted to the side and tilted to look either down from above or up from below, which creates a slight sense of foreboding. #littleredridinghood #grandmother #wolf #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
