It’s time once again for a fairy tale theme week, and the story I’ll be looking at next is Puss in Boots! This first version comes to us from Giuliano Lunelli, who adopts an engaging and straightforward style while faithfully preserving the details of Charles Perrault’s tale “Le Maître Chat ou le Chat Botté” (“Master Cat, or the Cat in Boots”). The art exaggerates form and perspective to highlight key elements and emphasize power dynamics between the characters. The eponymous boots are depicted as bright scarlet, a choice that, while it strains credulity as a period-authentic detail, effectively stands out in the composition of the illustrations. #cat #boots #fairytale #folklore #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
