One year ago this week, I began the first of my Fairy Tale Theme Weeks with an exploration of seven picture book versions of Cinderella. The experience was a good one, and I went on to do many more fairy tale sequences over the course of the year. To celebrate the anniversary of that very first project, I’m delighted to bring you a second Cinderella Week, with a completely new set of seven books! First is a lovely adaptation by Roberto Innocenti, who updates the story by setting it in interwar London. The elegance of the text pairs beautifully with the iconography of the Roaring Twenties, replete with Jazz Age glamour and flapper girl fashion. #cinderella #fairy #godmother #fairygodmother #glass #prince #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
