Come have a look at The Bear in the Book by Kate Banks and @georghallensleben. A young boy and his mother are spending time together before bed. They nestle in close to each other and read a book about a bear getting ready for the winter. The boy hopes to see when the bear will wake up, but by the time his mother reaches the end of the book he has already fallen asleep. In her sweet and clever narrative, Banks uses the “story within a story” framework to evoke parallels between going to bed and preparing for hibernation, with the physical act of reading serving as a link. Hallensleben provides appealing impressionistic paintings of the humans and of the natural world inside their book. #bear #boy #mother #read #reading #bed #bedtime #sleep #sleeping #nature #book #books #childrensbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
