Here is Shadow Chasers, @elly.mackay’s gentle meditation on nature in the slowly shifting twilight. Three young children follow the shadows out of their house and into the wilderness, exploring in the hazy glow of the evening sunset. They trot here and there among the trees, following the meandering paths of butterflies and birds and pausing to rest by the shore of a serene lake. Finally they return home, content as their shadow play comes to an end for the day. Through her signature light box paper theater technique, MacKay augments her inviting text with vivid, timeless imagery. #shadow #evening #sunset #night #dark #light #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
