@storybreathing rounds out his masterful wordless trilogy with Return, a work that concludes the grand storylines of Quest, echoes the powerful themes of Journey, and stands as an unforgettable tale of its own. This time the girl’s father, realizing he has neglected her, follows her into the otherworld. The villain from the previous installments appears, now armed with a terrible device that can suck up the amazing pens, along with any drawings they have created. Taking inspiration from an enigmatic series of petroglyphs that seems to outline the past, present, and future of the extraordinary realm and its mythic inhabitants, father and daughter devise a plan to defeat their adversary and free the chromatic magic once and for all. They then travel back to their home, content and grateful for each other’s company. With an incredible blend of techniques—digital modeling as a base, then pen and ink, watercolor, and gouache, Becker reveals in his magnum opus a rich current of emotional honesty and heart. #return #father #daughter #submarine #cave #home #draw #drawing #love #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
