The magic in the heart of Aladdin Week spills forth with Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, an adaptation illustrated by Greg Hildebrandt. The cheerful text and bright colors make for a light and entertaining read. Fascinatingly, the text avoids mentioning the death of the wicked magician by having the genie suddenly drag him into the lamp—an unexpectedly dramatic intercession. An observation: the designs of several characters and locations are strongly reminiscent of a well-known animated film adaptation of Aladdin…released in the same year as this book. Whether these similarities are a coincidence must be left for the reader to determine. #aladdin #magician #cave #ring #lamp #princess #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
