In the center of the pumpkin patch lie thrills and secrecy. At the center of Pumpkin Halloween Week lies The Pumpkinville Mystery by Bruce B. Cole and James Warhola. In Turkeytown, the corrupt members of the Council and Chamber of Commerce scheme to part people from their hard-earned money. With the help of a mysterious stranger, Hollis J. Goodbody and his wife leave town and move just a stone’s throw away to found Pumpkinville, a thriving, egalitarian community. The unscrupulous politicians attempt to destroy the good people’s crop, but the stranger visits justice upon them by bewitching the pumpkins to attack. With a genial, folksy style, Cole creates a whimsical etiology for the jack-o’-lantern, well matched by Warhola’s warm and quirky illustrations. #pumpkin #mystery #pumpkins #jackolantern #magic #halloween #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
