@faith.pray constructs a dramatic and uplifting tale in The Starkeeper. A girl walks through the lonely streets of her town, which have long darkened by clouds and rain. Tired of this grim existence, she makes a wish for something new and different. Suddenly, in a fountain in the town square, she finds what appears to be a fallen star. At first, the girl cannot find anyone interested in its soft, glowing light. She grows dejected, and the star flickers and dims. However, when she begins helping people around her in need—those without shelter, those who have lost loved ones—the star sparks and shines and grows, until it chases away the dark enveloping the little town. With a simple, eloquent text and illustrations combining pencil, watercolor, and digital technique, Pray creates a modern parable rich in warmth and humanity. #star #girl #town #rain #dark #light #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
