Beware of constricting lace, sharpened combs, and poisoned apples as we delve into another entry in this Snow White Sequence, this one a delightfully weird adaptation by the instantly recognizable @crgstudios. The lines drip and flow with a queasy texture. The bright colors create a striking dichotomy between the whimsical, beady-eyed dwarves, sporting soft orange, yellow, turquoise, and lavender, and the opulent queen, typically draped in acid green—until the moment of her fiery demise. Snow White herself is shown throughout with candy-striped sleeves and skirt. A note for folklore enthusiasts: of the Grimms’ plot details, Garcia preserves not only the queen’s disturbing punishment (a dance to the death in red-hot iron shoes) but also her grotesque demand of the huntsman (to cut out Snow White’s lungs and liver so that she may eat them). #snow #white #snowwhite #queen #mirror #poison #apple #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
